About Captain Chris

A native of Coastal South Carolina, Captain Chris has fished the waters around Charleston his whole life.  Having his first fishing experiences with his father at an early age, he strongly encourages taking a kid fishing.  With two sons to share outdoor activities with, fishing has been some of his fondest and most rewarding memories.

Captain Chris Charleston Coast Charters | Inshore, nearshore, coastal fishing in Charleston South CarolinaFishing the coastal waters around Charleston offers a variety of species as well as styles to target them.  Flats fishing, Inshore rivers and along the Intercoastal waterway, and nearshore which includes jetties and along beaches.  Captain Chris uses these diverse environments to break down the styles of fishing he provides and species targeted with each.

 Flats Fishing

Sight fishing the shallows around barrier Islands of coastal Charleston for Redfish (spottail bass).  I supply all the gear and take you to the fish.  Calm still water, beautiful views and tailing Redfish.  Allow me to take you in search of feeding Reds on the flats aboard my Famous Craft flats boat.  With ample deck space there is more than enough room for two-three anglers to cast to feeding Reds.

Fishing Inshore Rivers & Along The Intercoastal Waterway

Excellent opportunities abound for Redfish, Spotted Seatrout, Flounder, Sheephead, and sharks.  Fishing calmer waters, utilizing different fishing techniques (seasonal live bait) offers more variety of fishing and opportunity to catch fish.  This style of fishing offers excitement for both novice and experienced anglers alike who just want to catch fish and have fun.

Fishing Nearshore & Jetties

With favorable weather my Famous Craft flats boat provides an excellent platform for fishing nearshore for large species of Reds, Spotted Seatrout, Flounder, Sheephead, Sharks, Tarpon, and Cobia.  With the ability to run shallow but also handle a good chop, my Famous Craft performs excellently nearshore and provides a comfortable, dry ride getting there.  Well equipped, see my equipment page; with a Mercury225 optimax, trips to and from fishing areas are fast and enjoyable.  The same features that make for a good flats boat also apply to coastal nearshore fishing: ample deck space to fight those big fish that make big runs, low freeboard to catch and release big fish and plenty of live bait and gear storage below usable deck space.
